Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s love story

How Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan first met

Shah Rukh Khan was born on November 2, 1965, into a middle-class family. He met Gauri for the first time in 1984, when she was just 14 years old and he was 18 years old. She was dancing with her friend when he ran into her at a party. Since she was already dancing with another man, SRK was first quite hesitant to invite him out on a date.

When SRK finally plucked up the nerve to ask Gauri to dance, she declined, stating she was waiting on her lover. She was actually waiting for her brother, though. Naturally, when SRK learned about this later, he was given newfound hope for the future and a chance to work with Gauri Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s whirlwind romance

In multiple interviews, Shah Rukh Khan has stated that, as two anxious adolescents, he went on his first date with Gauri Khan at Delhi’s Panchshila Club. Following their first date, their romance started in a way that can only be compared to a legendary scene from a Bollywood film from the 1990s.

Gauri was also enthralled with Shah Rukh Khan’s charm and wit. Who wouldn’t, after all? Pretending to be Gauri’s buddy, SRK would frequently drop by her home. Although their romance was progressing well, it still included some drama, as is the case with all great love tales.

Gauri’s parents disapproved of their daughter’s interfaith love, even though their own relationship was going well. She was not treated well by Shah Rukh Khan either. He became envious of his lady love as a young man in love and became upset when Gauri interacted with other men.

What happened next?

Gauri Khan finally decided to take a break because she was so tired of everything at that point. She didn’t tell him when she and her pals went for Mumbai the following day, the day after celebrating SRK’s birthday together.

This drove Shah Rukh Khan mad, and this is when he realised his love for her and was absolutely terrified of losing her. Not knowing what to do, he confided in his mother, who gave him Rs 10,000 to go to Mumbai and look for Gauri.

Along with his friends, SRK promptly departed for Mumbai, in typical Bollywood fashion. They continued looking all throughout the city, but they had no idea where to look for Gauri. They had no idea where else to search because they were all broke. At that point, SRK recalled how much Gauri enjoyed the beach, and as fate would have it, he ran into her there.

When they got back together, SRK proposed to Gauri, but she turned him down. In an interview, SRK disclosed that Gauri felt sorry for him after his mother passed away a year later, which is why they chose to be married. However, you are mistaken if you believed that this was the joyful ending!

Drama and new beginnings

Like any Indian family, Gauri Khan’s strictly Hindu family was against this interfaith marriage. Gauri’s father was a strict vegetarian and they even had a temple inside their house. Not just that, her father also thought that they were far too young and immature to make such a big life decision.

Naturally, though, it’s Shah Rukh Khan. How on earth is he not able to crush everyone he meets? The same was true of Gauri Khan’s parents; it was just a matter of time till they warmed up to him. On October 25, 1991, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan finally tied the knot in a Hindu ceremony after overcoming all obstacles.

After more than 30 years, the couple still has three stunning children, a mansion that attracts plenty of tourists, and one of the largest production companies in the nation. They remain what we would refer to as couple goals!
